HISTORY OF THE AIRLINE
Aeropostal Alas de Venezuela: a legend in the Latin American skies. Founded on July 3, 1929, Aeropostal is the oldest airline in Venezuela and the third in all of Latin America. Its history is woven with threads of courage, innovation and passion for aviation.
History of Aeropostal Alas de Venezuela
The Transformation
In 1933, the Venezuelan State acquired the shares of the French General Aeropostal Company, thus creating the Venezuelan Aeropostal Line (LAV). The fleet of Latécoère 26 and 28 were replaced by the robust Douglas DC-3 and Lockheed 10 Electra. Aeropostal became a vital link to connect more than 40 towns in Venezuela.
International Expansion
After the Second World War, Aeropostal expanded its horizons. International flights began to destinations such as Boa Vista in Brazil and Aruba. In 1948, they acquired a Lockheed L-749 Constellation, allowing non-stop flights to New York, Bogotá and Lima. The 1950s saw the arrival of the Lockheed L-1049E and L-1049G Super Constellation.
The Virtual Age
In the year 2000, with the appearance of real flight simulators, a group of aviation enthusiasts decided to keep the Aeropostal flame alive. Aeropostal Virtual was born, a virtual airline that recreates the operations of the historic company. Over the years, they have maintained their passion for commercial aviation, passing through several virtual CEOs, but always with the spirit of Aeropostal burning in their hearts. This virtual community has taken the experience of flying to another level, sharing routes, simulating operations and celebrating the history of aviation.
Thus, the legend of Aeropostal Alas de Venezuela lives on, both in real and virtual skies. Keep flying high!
